Holiday Tea Parties- A Social Redeemer par excellence

Come Holidays and we think of ways in which we can put our foot down with family and friends. Tea our very own “Beverage King” is the quintessential social redeemer. While holidays are a busy time for us with family obligations, a Holiday Tea Party is the perfect excuse to unwind for a few hours and enjoy a pot of warm tea along with mouth watering accompaniments like ” Samosas”, “Pakoras” “Murkus” or “Ham Sandwiches” with your near and dear ones depending from which part of India you are coming from.

These get togethers are also a great reason to get your house in shape. So prop up your house from the dull slumber, jot down the guest list and send out the invite to the chosen few – ITS TIME FOR A TEA PARTY.

As you get things in place and prepare for the Holiday Tea Party, make sure that the teaware is vetted thoroughly to determine what is missing as you’ll want to serve an assortment of teas, it might not be a bad idea to buy an extra teapot. See that the cake plates are in proper shape as well as other serving dishes too, make sure you have enough of everything and nothing is left to chance.
Tea parties are generally based on the POTLUCK system where everyone invited bring gifts like- Cookies, Cakes, Cheese etc. If you want to give a little gift to each of your guests, a small tin of First Flush - Rohini King Tea or Golden Tea Masala Teas are  excellent ideas. You might even want to pick up our 6 in 1 Tea Gift Set and give them to each of your guests.
As for the menu, the flavors of the season should be your cue, from the exotic Banana Cake to an Apple Tart to Chocolate dipped Fruit cakes and holiday cookies you have a wide array of options to choose from. If you’re serving lunch, keep it light with a Mayonnaise Macaroni Veg Salad accompanied by simple Ham/ Cucumber- Tomato Sandwiches.
With lunch, serve a piping hot Golden Tips Spring Surprise Darjeeling Black to wash down the sumptuous grub. With desserts, serve green teas like Green Oolong, and a selection of other Green teas like Okayti Second Flush Green Tea and Green Darjeeling Earl Grey.
So get going and throw the next Holiday Tea Party in your neighbourhood and be a social animal - ……Ahoy!!!!!!

  1. I just stumbled upon this blog, and I have to admit that this article is making me feel nostalgic. The writer seems to be surrounded by all the goodies he mentions, or maybe he just good at describing. Now, only if I could get invited to a tea party where I can devour all the banana cake and a pot full of steaming-hot tea.
